What Is FTSOBH Rescue?
For The Sake Of Being Humane is a 501c3 Nonprofit animal rescue, located in Fennville Michigan.
Our dedicated team of volunteers and fosters work around the clock to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome hundreds of stray, abandoned, or unwanted pets locally, and across the country.

We are an entirely Donation funded organization and wouldn't exist without the support and effort of the local community. This Rescue started small in 2017 and has grown immensely over the course of the past 9+ years! We now run out of a true facility and save hundreds of unwanted, injured, abandoned, and homeless pets every year.
We work endlessly to "Give a voice, to the voiceless" and often take in dogs and cats that others have overlooked.

*We adopt out pets all over Michigan and surrounding states!*

All pets that are taken into the rescue are fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, and behaviorally evaluated prior to adoption. We also take care of any pre-existing medical conditions the pets may come into our care with. We strive to find homes that are the best fit for each pet and families individual needs.

We are also a registered Michigan Animal Protection Shelter that is inspected by the state of Michigan annually and held to the states set standards of care and housing. You can find all of our annual reports on MDARD's website.

Our Rescue started as a small hobby ran by just our Director back in 2017, taking in pets in need from our small town, which quickly grew into a national rescue mission as she was introduced to some amazing Texas rescuers who showed her the bigger picture of the overpopulation crisis. Now we take in pets from multiple states and locally around West Michigan.

We take in and care for Dogs, Cats, a few species of exotic birds, various poultry species, Goats, and sheep.
Only the Dogs and Cats are placed up for adoption, all other species are either transferred to a long term care organization that fits their species specialized care or they join our Directors small sanctuary of farm animals.
